Luc 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2015 I also ran into the issue, that the printer does not recognize my cartridges anymore. After reading and surfing around, I found that Epson blocks 3rd party cartridges with there last firmware update. So I decided to downgrade again, but the printer display always says 100percent done, but WIC-Reset never ends. I tried this several times, no luck. So I decided to install the original firmware once again to be sure, no errors occurred, but the Epson-Firmware-Updater-Tool begins uploading, but stops at 47% and never continues. In several threads, I read that you must not have any Error-messages in the front-panel, so that an Upgrade/Downgrade works. Is this correct, and isn't there a way to pass this, because I don't have any original Epson-cartridges anymore. Regards, Luc
John_Admin 388 Report post Posted May 14, 2016 WP4525 firmware downgrade is supported now If printer has any errorrs or you dont have original ink cartridges - You have to make firmware Update in Program Update Mode. First set printer to this mode then upload the Firmware to printer.
