Having used Epson "reset" utility once, with success on my XP 830, it allowed me a bit more printing time until it just stopped cold. Research found this site. My download from 2manuals was easy as was the entire process and my printer is working once again, no thanks to Epson. I removed the ink pad chamber and replaced the saturated pads with some of my wife's cotton make up pads...Ha ! We'll see how long that lasts. Very similar material. I bought one reset key and it hasn't even been a month yet and my printer is already telling me that the ink pad needs service. All of these good reviews that I have read on here is the reason i took a chance and purchased a reset key. I have not been able to use my printer at all. I am highly pissed off that not even a month after purchasing the one reset key and my printer is back at it again. I want a refund or to be able to try another reset code. this is a bunch of B.S.

Waste counters doesn't have any relation to how much time did user used the printer. Waste counters increase when printhead cleaning is performed. One printhead cleaning takes about 3-4% of waste counter. So if user make 25-30 printhead cleanings - the waste ink counters will reach 100% and overflow. Doesn't depend on time you will make this cleanings - in 1 month or in 1 year or in 1 day or in 3 years. Usually when printer is new and using Epson original inks - -there will be no need to make printhead cleanings. After Epson inks finish - users often buy third party inks - they have not so good quality as Epson and may clog printhead more often. So after Epson inks finish - users make printhead cleanings more often - as a result - after 20-30 printhead cleanings - counters overflow. So - try to make printhead cleanings less often.
Only ONE thing what does Reset Key - it resets waste ink pads counters to ZERO. Doesn't matter counters will be reset by yourself using Reset key ($9.99) or by Epson Service Center engineer ($50) - the result will be the same - counters will become 0%
Conclusion: use high quality inks!

Epson XP-700 working fine till suddely get message saying 'ink pad at end of useful life - contact Epson Service' Epson service not interested as printer no longer under warranty and suggested best option would be to buy a new printer and scrap this one. So not a happy chappy and looked for options to try and resolve this issue. Found this site and downloaded reset program. WIN10 64bit PC connected to printer by WiFi. Ran reset utility - did not find any printers. Switched off printer and re started, disabled Epson Print Utility still no printer found. Rebooted PC and then after it had restarted tried the WIC Reset Utility again after connecting printer through USB. This time WIC found both connections WiFI and USB. Using USB took Reset option and purchased Key. Copied key into WIC utility and OK. Switched Off printer and then switched on and magic no error message and printer back to normal. Very pleased and somewhat relieved as have some printing to complete tonight before tomorrow morning. Very happy to pay £9.97 for this result.

Thank you! I paid less for my Epson R320 1 year ago than Epson want for servicing it. I had printed a head a nozzle check 2 days ago when I put in a new cartrige all printouts were perfect but today my Printer told me it needed service and refused to work. Your fix showed me two things the Ink wells did not need flushing as stated by the Epson Tech and that my printer had been set to only run half the usual plates so that was why the service notice cam up so soon after I purchased it.

This is the best $9.99 I have ever spent. My much used and carefully maintained Epson R1800 stopped working shortly after the dreaded notice appeared 'Service required.......' I had always been careful to soak up the excess ink in the sponge ink reservoir and the printer was still working beautifully. Thank goodness I looked on Google for a solution and it came up with you guys, like the cavalry coming over the hill to rescue me! the reset worked perfectly and my beloved printer is once again up and running. Thank you so much, I can unreservedly recommend your software.
