  I made the mistake of upgrading the firmware in my Epson XP-434. That caused my ink cartridges to not be recognized. I found this WIC Reset Utility after after searching for original firmware version. I bought the key and plugged it into the utility, and bingo 10 minutes later I was up and running. Thanks a bunch 2manuals.com!

  Hello, I've been ripped off like thousands and millions of others, no doubt? I bought a key for Epson XP-2100 without a chip, but it's not clear what to do. I didn't receive any instructions, and the ones on your website contradict each other! I tried to update the firmware, waited a long time, and finally realised that the firmware wasn't updated! What use is the key I bought? And why am I being asked to reset the counter to zero when I want a printer without a chip? What is the wicreset.exe software for?   I spent 4 hours trying to get my r340 to work then l I used your program to reset the protection counter. I have just printed 5 pages and 4 disks. Slightly cryptic instructions but it worked perfectly. it took me all of 5 minutes.

  My XP-4100 printer has recognized the old (but new) empty cartridge, I can also refill it with a syringe. This is a good economic solution.
