Even though I hadn't been able to disable the process monitor thing that it says do first, the reset program still worked instantly when I ran it on an Epson XP-540. If there is one thing that gets my goat in terms of being so unethical both a rip-off financially and environmentally unsustainable, its the way printer companies rip us off. So am super grateful to have found a way round this. For a much more reasonable price than the printer shop told us, and something I could do at home when I needed the printer urgently for work! I have two questions, if you´re so kind to help me.
1) The expiration date key. Does it mean once we get it, we have a period to use it? Or what the expiration date referenced to?
2) If the printer has a problem and we have to format it again, will the key information lost and we need a new one, or does it be able to be used again?.

Researched the web and found these guys.
The reset process and key purchase was easy to follow and after a few registration steps and a simple paypal transaction the reset key arrived, was entered and the printer was back working again. Saved me at least £80 on a new basic 3-in-1 printer plus ensured my existing ink supplies were not useless
