Printer reset with key then failed waste counter back to 100% after test print. Key no longer works!

2Manuals reply:
There is bug in Epson Photo 1390, 14000, 1410 firmware that put waste counter overflow back again after reset. This problem can be solved by updating printers firmware. Here is step by step manual how to fix it - www.2manuals.com/1400fw_update.php

Having used Epson "reset" utility once, with success on my XP 830, it allowed me a bit more printing time until it just stopped cold. Research found this site. My download from 2manuals was easy as was the entire process and my printer is working once again, no thanks to Epson. I removed the ink pad chamber and replaced the saturated pads with some of my wife's cotton make up pads...Ha ! We'll see how long that lasts. Very similar material. I got the flashing lights and Service required message on my Epson R2400, as many others have before!
I spent hours online and eventually managed to download Epsons own Adjustment Program. It showed me the waste ink settings but would not let me reset the counter, although I had disconnected the feed tubes and re-routed them to an external bottle.
Today I found 2Manuals.com and downloaded their WIC reset program. I thought It probably won\'t work but one key is only $9.99 so what the heck!
Well that was the best $9.99 I have ever spent - as soon as I entered the key and hit RESET the printer whirred into action, ink pumped into my waste bottle and I am back in action!

This has saved me a lot of money and the hassle of sending the printer to an Epson service centre. Truly a 5***** product! Chris Porteous, Prestatyn, U.K.

THIS IS A MUST HAVE UTILITY This reset key worked perfectly for my Epson Artisan 800. I tried the Epson reset utility (free from Epson) many times. It would "reset" the counter to "40%", then upon turning printer off - on, it would revert to "0%" with the error message that the inkpads had reached their end of life. This also happened whenever I performed a head cleaning. For those of us who use a CIS (I am not affiliated with inkproducts.com - but have been using their CIS for a couple of years and LOVE the quality and service) - it is imperative to be able to reset this waste ink counter. I should also add, the waste ink pad issue is real - don't expect to simply reset the waste ink counter and go happily on your printing way - you will have a disaster and you will experience frequent head clogging. You MUST use an external waste ink disposal system - either make your own for $5 or buy one. THIS + the reset utility is what enables you to get the true value from your CIS-modified printer.
