This Service Manual and Parts Catalog describes basic functions, theory of electrical and mechanical operations, maintenance and repair procedures of the printer.

This manual consists of 6 chapters and Appendix.

CHAPTER 1. PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS
Provides a general overview and specifications of the product.

CHAPTER 2. OPERATION PRINCIPLES
Describes the theory of electrical and mechanical operations of the product.

CHAPTER 3. TROUBLESHOOTING
Describes the step-by-step procedures for the troubleshooting.

CHAPTER 4. DISASSEMBLY / ASSEMBLY
Describes the step-by-step procedures for disassembling and assembling the product.

Provides Epson-approved methods for adjustment.

Provides preventive maintenance procedures and the lists of Epson-approved lubricants and adhesives required for servicing the product.

My Epson 1280 started getting the dreaded flashing panel lights. The printer quit working all together. I found on the web, that the cause was the ink waste counter had topped out and the printer required service to reset the counter. Then I found this site and downloaded the manual and the service application. Ran the program and quickly reset the counter now all is well again! Worked like a dream. Thank you! I RETRACT MY EARLIER REVIEW WHEN I WAS A BIT CONVUSED WHEN I DOWNLOADED PICTURES OF MY DOWNLOAD.MY VIRGIN MEDIA EMAIL WAS DOWN ITS BACK NOW AND I SAW A LINK TO WHAT I ACTUALLY DOWNLOADED I,E A PROGRAM.so everythings great

by other wise i need u to info me about service manual if it has trouble codes and diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures ?......thanx

I tried using the free utility Epson provided, the counter reset to 40%, then after a print I got the error again. I gave WIC a chance out of desperation and it work! Saved me from throwing out a perfectly good printer and buying a new one. I use CISS and do a lot of prints and head cleaning. I cleaned ink pads myself but will set up a waste bottle when I get the chance.

Whenever I try to do the ink charge, ink out appears here, so far it hasn't worked for me, could support staff be able to help? REPLY: To use Ink Charge - ink levels must be more then 50%
