CANON PIXMA iP1200, iP1600, iP2200 General Tool
To reset waste ink pads counters you have to use iP1600 Service Tool:

1. Order and DOWNLOAD Service Tool for Canon iP1200, 1600, 2200
2. Unzip downloaded file by WinZip.
3. Run GeneralTool.exe file
4. Select the connected USB port number from USB PORT
5. Click LOCK RELEASE, and select the applicable model name in SET DESTINATION
6. In CLEAR WASTE INK COUNTER, select MAIN or PLATEN. The selected waste ink counter will be reset. MAIN resets the main waste ink counter, PLATEN resets the platen waste ink counter. If both the main and platen waste ink absorbers are replaced, reset both the main and platen waste ink counters.

Good day. I have to clean my printer head EVERY hour. Then it prints fine. Until I leave it for an hour. So this leads to waste pad full and I have to purchase a key every time. Is there another way to go around this problem please? I cannot afford to buy a key every week.

You have to make 2 things
- clean parking station first - then inks will not dry on printhead;
- use high quality inks.

Great, for me absolutely great and excellent ! At my first email contact with 2manuals.com I received a fast response to a question about my printer and then I've been spend ~20 $ for the RX420 Printer manual and one RESET- Key , and it works :-) The Printer manual even is absolutely recommend for Technic freaks , escpecially the pictures in the 'disassembly/assembly' --_ section 4.3.10 Waste Ink Pads are useful. Bought a key for a epson rx425 although they delayed to send me the key to my email,they finally send and i saved my printer,the ink cartridges i had bought, and a lot of money i would have wasted to buy a new one.Old printer working as brand new!THANK YOU ALL!
