CANON PIXMA iP1200, iP1600, iP2200 General Tool
To reset waste ink pads counters you have to use iP1600 Service Tool:
1. Order and DOWNLOAD Service Tool for Canon iP1200, 1600, 2200
2. Unzip downloaded file by WinZip.
3. Run GeneralTool.exe file
4. Select the connected USB port number from USB PORT
5. Click LOCK RELEASE, and select the applicable model name in SET DESTINATION
6. In CLEAR WASTE INK COUNTER, select MAIN or PLATEN. The selected waste ink counter will be reset. MAIN resets the main waste ink counter, PLATEN resets the platen waste ink counter.
If both the main and platen waste ink absorbers are replaced, reset both the main and platen waste ink counters.

Thought I would have to trash my printer and the unused ink cartridges.
Only hiccup was needing to disable my security protection to install this wonderful product.
Used it as a trial - which proved it worked - then bought the key to finish the job.
I am wrapped as you have saved me hundreds of dollars as there is nothing wrong with the quality of the printing.

the now infamous \"end of life\" message appeared.
After hours of research I found that Epson had a free download to reset and service printer, I downloaded only to find it did not work.
On contacting epsonuk I was told that there is no reset utility or program for uk Epson printers and that I must take it to my local Epson service centre.... this would cost £80 plus vat and parts! more than a new printer.
After advice from forums and many ebay offers of a \"genuine\" reset utility/key, I found 2manuals.com.
through them I \"chatted\" with John who assured me it would work, despite Epson uk advice, and so proceeded to purchase.
from start to finish it took less than ten minutes and I now have a fully working printer for a Meer $10 (about £8)
I cannot recommend this company any higher ..... thank you very much 2manuals and John and one up on big greedy corporation\'s.

Ciss saved a lot of money printing thouseands of hires fotos

Didn't EPSON learn from you - now they are selling printers with build - in CISS
So YOU should get monex from EPSON !!!!!!!!
The best of course is resetting the counters
